We recently switched from windows 2000 to vista on some PC's. the switch
went pretty easy, except, during the morning a job runs to update some a
file and users have to exit certain programs or the update program ends
their jobs. They say on Windows 2000 the break message sent out caused a
beep sound, and that it stopped with the switch to vista.
Has anyone had this problem? They are getting kicked from active sessions
when all they need to do is leave one or 2 applications back the menu
system. The break message doesn't help if they are in email, and don't see
it happen.

Before anyone says make the job run outside business hours.....
I know making them leave during the day is wrong, but the job used to run
earlier (4am) and they couldn't do some stuff until a certain person came
in and authorized things. They thought up, and agreed to the current
system,
