I see in the ibm support doc for Sharp printers there are 2 printer emulations recommended, *LEXOPTRAC and *HPCOLORLJ.
If having problems w/ one like margin issues, I would try the other.
How is this configured? lpr, pjl, snmp, or ipp? Only LPR and
SNMP confirmed with a "Y" in the support doc.

Subject: attached laser printer

Greetings,

I have a Sharp MX5500N attached to a V5R4 system. It is working
somewhat with Client Access printer emulation as MFRTYPMDL(*LEXOPTRAC),
and I presume that this is the way to handle the printer. Can somebody
comfirm this presumption?

I know of two remaining challenges: printouts on legal paper lose some
lines off the top of the page, and I need letter paper paper to be
3-hole punched.

Will somebody be good enough to point me to what I should do or read? I
have in the past occasionally hacked a workstation customization object,
but I suspect that I am missing something. Surely these requirements
are entirely routine, are they not?

I have a vague memory of seeing a simple suggestion here for avoiding
the forms-mount inquiry message for laser printers, but I cannot find it
now. Any hints?

Thank you, all, for your attention.

Cheers,
Terry.
