As new media is introduced such as blue ray, the old media
becomes harder to find and drives that read it tend to disappear.


Good point, Chris. A DVD may "last" 30 years, but may be "obsolete" long before that. And even if the media lasts 30 years, it would probably be safer to duplicate it after 5, for example.

Of course, our Disney Cars DVD only lasted about 5 minutes in the hands of our 2 year old grandson ;-)
