I still remember the time, this has to be 20 years ago, I had to swap out a
twinax terminal that had died. I unscrewed the cable from the back, handed
it to the operator, and told her to hold it facing up so the data wouldn't
run out onto the floor. She did.

And no, it's not necessary to hold your hand over the end as long as it's
held high enough.
