This one, IMHO, is very important. You can backup the storage spaces
from the i side, as long as you're not running anything resembling a
database on the machine.

One thing i've seen done wrong here frequently is that Domain
Controllers are backed up using this method - this is an unsupported
scenario from Microsoft's side, and it WILL break your AD replication
if restored.

Use a proper, VSS based backup solution that is not image based to
backup all databases. Terminal Servers for example can be backed up as
images, but DCs and SQL Server can't. Remember that many Windows-based
Server software comes with SQL Server Express - in that case, the same
rule applies.
