Yes. The following message is in the job log:

Initialize System (INZSYS) processing completed successfully.

This is a brand new install but I don't think I need to do anything else to "activate" the B side or any other functions. I haven't installed the license keys yet but that also shouldn't get in the way of a B side IPL.

Looks like I'll be calling IBM. I hope I don't get the "Microsoft solution": Reinstall the OS.....

Thanks,

Pete

Hi Pete

Only thing I can think of is - did the INZSYS run to completion successfully

Subject: B600 0901 on B side IPL

My brand spanking new JS12 needed the latest cume for IBM i 6.1 so I have downloaded that, stuffed it into an image catalog and as I read through the install document noticed that it had to be applied in a B side IPL. I ran the pwrdwnsys command and told it to restart on the B side and it failed to come up. I got a B600 0901 SRC. So I manually changed the IPL back to A and it came right up.

The text on the SRC seems to indicate that the LIC needs to be re-installed. That seems a little extreme doesn't it? The only HIPER or reference I see to this an APAR in 2005 that is included in the V5R3M0 cumulative PTF cover letter from October 21st, 2008.

Anyone see this before? If not, I'll give IBM a call (and see if they fixed my SWMA entitlement.....).

Pete
