FWIW i always key the PF ( i absolutely abhor RRN processing of PFs...)
years ago there was good reasoning for having unkeyed PFs (it was for
performance during reorgs, etc IIRC) but now it's really a moot point
since the systems are so fast and the database has been greatly enhance
through the years. since the performance gain, etc has really been
negated why not key the PFs?

Thanks,
Tommy Holden

DDS PF keys

Hi,

Does anyone out there systematically leave out keys from physical files,
creating them only in logical files when needed?

If so, what are the advantages?

Thanks
