You MAY just have the server name wrong. DRDA is picky about server
names. Check that the system name of your System i matches what you have
entered in your SQL server provider setup. System i name is shown on
your "Sign On" panel unless you have modified it.

Subject: Data Provider

We are trying to access and update data on the System i from SQL SERVER
2005 (Windows Server 2003 64-bit) using the IBMDASQL provider, however
we are getting the following error -

The operation could not be performed because OLE DB provider "IBMDASQL"
for linked server "DB2400OLEDB" was unable to begin a distributed
transaction.

Any thoughts? Which provider would you use and why?

Thanks.
