I have worked on a Data Warehouse running on SQL that pushed & pulled data from the 400. First this is to make sure the file is journaled. Journaling is required incase a SQL Roll Back is required.

We are trying to access and update data on the System i from
SQL SERVER
2005 (Windows Server 2003 64-bit) using the IBMDASQL
provider, however
we are getting the following error -

The operation could not be performed because OLE DB
provider "IBMDASQL"
for linked server "DB2400OLEDB" was unable to
begin a distributed
transaction.

Any thoughts? Which provider would you use and why?

Thanks.
