F0005 is definitely in my library list, though not in library SCOYLE.
I'm not sure why it is only searching for the file in SCOYLE. I don't
want to have to run any commands before invoking the function. I'd like
it to just use the *LIBL of whatever environment it happens to be
running in.

Not that the list above does not include unqualified object name
resolution
(table, view etc.). For that either the *LIBL is used (*SYS naming
convention) or current schema (*SQL naming convention).

Being that you're using STRSQL and *SYS naming convention, the question
to
ask yourself is 'Which library holds the F0005 file and is it in my
*LIBL'.

Per the error message, I suspect your *CURLIB is SCOYLE and F0005 is not
in
it.
I think your options are ADDLIBLE or CHGCURLIB or you can run SET SCHEMA
<library name holding F0005 file> command before invoking your UDF.
