If you happen to be on V6R1 the Change Data Queue API QMHQCDQ allows you to specify automatic reclaim of the storage when the queue is empty.

If you are on V5R4 you can specify this also on the CRTDTAQ command, though that means still having to delete and recreate once.

Both assume that at some point in time the queue contains no messages.

We have some data queues that have grown to large sizes (18MB) but only have a very few entries on them at any one time. I want to get them back to their original size and start doing this on a regular basis. Is there any way to do this other than deleting and recreating the data queue? I looked around and don't see a reorg for a data queue. The CLRDTAQ command (from TAA Tools) only removes any current entries but does not shrink the size of the queue.
