Hi Rob -

Your "not found" PTFs would explain why group SF99530 is "Not
installed." The question would be, if you loaded a group PTF from CDs
why would there be any "not found?"

Was your PTF package created for a specific system that already had PTFs
applied? If so you have to reorder using the "Order all PTFs so they
can be applied to multiple systems" option. Or download the missing
ones and hope you find them all.

I'm not sure that this is the root of your current problem yet, but it
will need to be fixed eventually.

You are correct that it shoujld be MCH3601. I realise that it could be
an IBM coding defect but I am not yet satisfied that I loaded the PTFs
correctly. When I do work with PTF groups, group SF99530 says "Not
installed" yet if I display the group, some PTFs are temporarily, some
permanently applied, some not found, some supeerseded. If some are
permanently applied, I am not sure ho the system can say not installed.
Trouble is, I have had to touch PTFs for some long time and have may
forgotten something very basic.

Any ideas?

Many thanks

I have checked QUSER profile, etc. and that seems OK.

Generally MCH37601 relates to incorrect parameters being passed but
in this instance it is an OS/400 problem. I believe that I have
installed all the correct PTFs but of course I may have missed
something. Any ideas?

Thanks for your help again.

There is no such message as MCH37601 so I presume it is MCH3601. That
generally indicates a coding defect. Trying to reference a pointer
that is not set. Since this is in IBM code that is an APAR condition
(unless caused by user-written code neglecting to pass in a parameter
etc.) in which case you should ensure you are current on PTFs, search
the IBM Support database for MSGMCH3601 and QZDACRTP, and if no
resolution then open a PMR.

Simon Coulter.
