In V6R1 the new default JVM in i5/OS V6R1 is now the 32-bit JVM using Java
5. In prior releases, the 64-bit a**classica**JVM was the default.

i5/OS V5R4:
a**64-bit Classic JVM (default JVM is Classic 1.4)
a**Classic 1.3, 5.0, and 6.0
a**32-bit IBM Technology for Java JVM

i5/OS V6R1:
a**64-bit Classic JVM supports Java versions 1.4, 5.0, and 6.0
a**32-bit IBM Technology for Java 5.0 (JDK V1.5) (default JVM in V6R1)
a**64-bit IBM Technology for Java 6.0 (JDK V1.6)

I would not remove any versions as the others have stated.
The 32-bit loads faster, but after initial load I have not noticed much of
a performance difference.
This can vary based on what the application is doing.
