Normally I've had no problem with dual HMC's. Stop/start partitions,
console sessions, etc. However, I tried using a utility that I normally
do with SST and that is removing a card. Now, I am not talking about just
removing it from the lpar, but I am talking about removing it from the
box. The reason I used HMC instead of SST is that it was a dedicated (not
guested) Linux lpar and me and Linux aren't talking. :-)
So, I went into Servers, Checked the particular server, expand
Serviceability, Hardware, Remove FRU. Pick the unit and the card and
click Launch Procedure.
"The requested service action cannot be completed from this HMC.
The hostname of the HMC performing Problem Analysis for this domain is
..."
So, how do I set up the ?FSP? to allow either HMC to launch this
procedure?
My workaround was to use the other HMC. For now, ok. But soon we will be
moving that HMC offsite. If I can't get the fsp to recognize both HMC's
at a minimum I better have it subordinate to the local one.
