Yep this is they way my scripts work. Login as Anonymous and send DrFranken@xxxxxxxxxxxx as password. Then CD to the directory IBM gave me and then MGET *.bin. I use this constantly - multiple times per week. Works every time in a row but speeds aren't what they should be, ususally only about 1500KB/sec or so.
Sounds like an issue on your end to me!

Re: Batch FTP failing to Fix Central

First, let me go off on a tangent. I learned some hints at an "after iSocial" gathering at COMMON.
1 - It's anonymous. Who cares what IBM sent you in the email? Just use something like address at domain dot com and leave it at that. They don't
check the password.
2 - Use mget *.txt for the ascii stuff.
3 - Use mget *.bin for the binary stuff.
The only thing you have to customize is the cd /ccss/lv1/us37301/b8037301/00643676/c
line. Use of mget and a default anonymous password really simplifies it.

Now, back to your problem. Do you pipe OUTPUT to somewhere? What do you see in there?

Now I realize not everyone works where the iSeries/i5 is physically located but for those who do...
I'm a big fan of Download Director. I have a nice fast Broadband connection here at home and can generally download a full CUMEPKG in 60 to 90 minutes to my laptop. I can take those files and FTP them to the system in 30 minutes or less over the local network. On V5R3 or V5R4 I can create the catalog in about 5 minutes if I use *FROMFILE vs *GEN and I'm done.
