I gather that the data is in a non-Systemi file. If it is in a PC file in the IFS, you could use Scott Klement's IFS tutorial to get the data from an RPG IV program and update the master table on the i. I've used those techniques to do that sort of thing. In my case, though, I mapped an IFS folder on the i5 so that, even though it was a PC program, the data just got dumped straight into the IFS.

If the data is in another SQL database, I think Scott has written articles about working with those databases within RPH, as well. Plus RJS and DRV (and perhaps others) have tools for that.

Subject: How to update a table from external program or text file

Hello.
I'm developing a little tool to calculate productions. Then I need to update
the product stock in AS400 with the result of those calculations. How can I
do it?

I know that there's a tool, iSeries transfer data to AS400 but how can I
use it to update data in a table in AS400?

Thanks,
Marco
