For variable stuff like this, 2 solutions come to mind

1. Build the FTP input script at each call - or at least update the record that has the file name in it
2. Get Scott Klement's FTPAPI - it has separate functions for each FTP command, so you could parameterize the process with it. We made a product that wraps the functions in CL commands, I beliveve, so that can be done easily enough.

Hi Folks,

Posted here earlier this month with some FTP questions and everything is
working great through our test. Then the client asked that we send the
file with a unique name each day. That is no problem on the iSeries side
to do that but I'm not sure how to do it with FTP.

The way we are using FTP is that via a CL it executes a script that
among other things has the file name in it currently. Is this the only
way to automate FTP ? I'm trying to figure out how to pass a file name
that would change every day.

Thanks,

Chuck
