What are you thinking? No, totally incorrect.
It was an HS21 (Intel Blade) in a BCH, with iSCSI connected to a
Power5+ 520 with the disks in the drawers of an EXP24.

Sorry Pete, I'm still confused. The EXP24 is not a SAN, correct, it's direct attach storage. So, you need a server to attach it to (or several, but the physical disks aren't shared). I guess it's the line about the Intel blade with iSCSI "connected to" the 520 that is throwing me.

Maybe a picture is better. Is it option 1:

Disk (Exp24) <-----> 520 <-----> Blade

Or is it option 2:

520 <-----> Disk <-----> Blade.


Or to ask it another way, if I turned off the 520, would the blade still have disk access?
