the last part of the stmt "Where rowNbr <= 10"
it is not accepted but if I
move the select into a with common table expr and then a
run a select on it,
I get what I'm looking for (and and can also get rid of
the rowNbr column
that is not among the original table columns).

I haven't used the OLAP features, so this may not

exactly right but...

Select branchCode, amount,
row_number() over (partition by branchCode) as
rowNbr

Where rowNbr <= 10
