ISAM access to data is not a "back door". It's simply an additional tool; one that no other database gives you. There is absolutely nothing wrong with ISAM access.

Please name one verifiable situation where a company lost money due to ISAM access that COULD NOT have happened with SQL.

You won't find one, which means that your characterization of "back door" is simply you calling names (and really undermining any credibility you might otherwise have).
