For anyone that has prior experience. Our serial attached console pc has detached from the system and will not communicate over its normal COM port. Service wants us to do a cold boot to reset the async card software. Being almost a 24/7 shop this is pretty inconvenient. Any advice as to how to force it to communicate short of the reboot?That should be the last resort... You can use the control panel functions 25, 26, 65 and 21 to cause the system to reset the console port. Depending on the OS level this can be a few pushes of the control panel buttons to several hundred by the time you scroll all of the functions several times. I've done it and Rochester can walk you through it. It's concurrent too.
