Kathie,

Question, what are you doing with the data next?

The easiest way to deal with actual stream data, like this EDI file, is to use the IFS APIs directly.
In comparison, CPYFRMSTMF and CPYFRMIMPF expect pseudo-record based data in the stream file.

Either read and process the data in the same program, or build a little utility program to read the
using the IFS APIs and stick it where you need it.

If the data ends up in an EDI product, you should look to see if the EDI package already has commands
to read the stream file. IIRC, GENATRAN for instance does.

Lastly, IIRC I once built a little FTP script that FTP'd the data from the stream file into a PF; thus
converting the data from a stream to 80 byte chucks in the PF.

Subject: Fw: CPYFRMIMPF EDI File

I am having a bugger of a time with getting a simple 80 character EDI file
from the IFS to a file called FILE080 in my library with one field of 80
bytes. I will then ADD it to my Edi inbound queue.
I have done it a zillion times with .csv files, but not this EDI file, I
do not want delimiters. I just want the data to be copied exactly as it
is.

I tried a zillion variations of CPYFRMIMPF and CPYFRMSTMF to no avail.

Can anyone help?

Here is a snip of the data:
