Lost object history - disk replacement

fixed

On 4/19/2008 [Patriot's Day for us New Englanders] our operations staff replaced the disk. We [developers] understood we had some cleanup work to get done prior to the replacement. All went well.

However, I was quite surprised to find after it was a done deal that we had lost some object history.

I rely on this information to check when I last ran a program or when a file was last updated. It's OK now for objects that have their information changed frequently.

Obviously it's too late, now, but could this have been avoided?
