Oh! Oh! I have a better one! Just DLTPGM QSYS/QDBOPEN, or even better, DLTPGM QSYS/QDMCOPEN.

Sorry, but RNMOBJ QSYS/CRTDEVDSP *CMD DAFT is pretty much... well the new name says it all.

Although I would not want a Twinax Console, I do agree they are very reliable. They are more reliable than anything with a disk drive in my experience. A Twinax Console located near a system on a standalone port with a short manufactured cable is probably going to be trouble free for a decade or more, even in harsh [esp. dusty] environments. We had some last for many more years than that, and I have no idea how many years prior to my arrival that the same hardware was in operation on various S/38 in the labs. I would expect those here defending a Twinax Console, are not suggesting that everyone should be setting up Twinax devices across an enterprise.

Regards, Chuck

Or that QAUTOCRT is a joke. Test that by renaming CRTDEVDSP,
swapping out the system console from one model to another
(like, from a 3180 to a 3197, because yet another system
console died) and finding out that you have no system console.
Now you can get into the myriad of problems caused by faulty
twinax cable ends, balun wiring, maxed out number of splices,
etc dealing with twinax wiring.
