He....

Just to reply to my own message (again). It's not a CCSID problem. Was
mixing two independent problems.

It seems to be (I hope and pray) two missing PTF's SI23524 and SI18461

Mark...... I replied to your mail (private reply), but got this:
delivery temporarily suspended: connect to
aln-mailrelay.att.net[12.102.252.75]: server refused to talk to me: 450
busy - please try later

That's why you didn't get a reply from me.

FYI

Just to reply to my own message - please do not use your time
trying to replicate my problem.

Mark pointed me a step into the right direction.
He had no problem compiling the module (cDate) from V5R3 to V5R2.

Guess it's a CCSID problem (hmmmm.... as usual).

Subject: Error: Level of machine interface not supported on target release ...

This drives me nuts...... or have I overlooked something ????

V5R3: Have a module which I try to compile (CrtRpgMod) with
target release (TgtRls) of V5R2M0 (and *PRV) - and gets this error:

Meddelelses-ID . . . . : MCH4230 Grad . . . . . . . . . : 40
Meddelelsestype . . . : Escape
Dato sendt . . . . . . : 13.05.08 Klokkeslæt . . . . . . : 13:00:52

Meddelelse . . : Level of machine interface not supported on target release.

Årsag . . . . . : The module object or the program object was not created
because the level of the machine interface that was used is not compatible
with the release level targeted.

Handling . . . : If a module object was being created then there is a
problem in the compiler. If a program object was being created then there is
a problem in the binder.

Technical description . . . . . . . . : The machine interface level used is
X'0530'. The machine interface level targeted is X'0520'. The machine log
note ID is 01004C22.

Compiles ok on V5R3.
On another box with V5R1 the same module compiles nicely down to V4R5.

FWIW: It's module cDate from Uzaemon's SNDM (send mail) and just handles
dates.

Could someone on V5R3, who has a module (maybe even cDate in SNDM) -
try to compile with target release of V5R2M0 or *PRV (pls. use QTEMP :-) ???
This could eliminate my thoughts of a bug in the compiler.

Regards,
Leif
