That's my point. It's under $500 list price here. Even assuming a .9
currency exchange - which is conservative, I believe, you come in at
$553. I can't believe I can buy 4 drives for less than one of
yours.....if that is the case than it would suck to be you (no offense).

I just configured and priced 2 M15's and my pricing is considerably less
than yours. Granted the delta would still exist between the power
system and your x system but it should be possibly considerably less.

I'd take those detailed configurations up the chain at IBM or your
supplier somehow....something is very fishy.....

4x 70GB 15kRPM 3.5" SAS Drives (2996 CHF each)
Each 4 drives? Each drive? I see these drives at $498 US list.
Even
at 4 x and assuming a unfavorable currency conversion I can't come to
$2996.

Well, a Dollar is less than a Swiss Franc. Of course that doesn't
reflect in the prices. Stuff is usually a lot more expensive here than
in the US.

The part number is 3676. Price is 2996 List per Unit. So, for four
units, you're already at 12k. Just for for lousy disk drives.

Although I can't come to 4x 70GB 15kRPM 2.5" SAS Drives (890 CHF
each)
either.

Those are System x Drives. IBM Part # 43X0837. Current List Price is 556
CHF.

They're 2.5" though - not 3.5". The 2.5" drives are faster and usually
more reliable than the older and clunkier 3.5" drives.

There's also a 15kRPM 3.5" SAS 73GB Drive for System x. IBM Part #
40K1043. Current List Price is 415 CHF.
