I stole the idea from one of the trade magazines and can take no credit aside from remembering the original article :-) At least now you have another diagnostic... If QMQRY works, probably the underlying SQL engine is OK. It seems something is off with RUNSQLSTM or with the source members you are using or the database cross ref is damaged.

Elvis had an excellent suggestion with the RCLSTG *DBXREF. Too bad it will be hard to implement in your situation. Consider writing a CL program that you can run at the console to go to restricted, RCLSTG and then start the box back up again. Run it at 16.59 before they kick you out the door and let it process all night long if it has to...
