Brad,

David is certainly DOing something - his contributions are invaluable to the
'cause'. But the suggestion is not to create another forum where we fight
through the whiners to get to the meat.

How about the following things to DO?
Have you TOLD anyone who is NOT in this world already about the amazing IBM
i?
Have you created a job for an intern so that you support the IBM i academic
initiative?
Have you been to your local user group meeting - even if the topic is not
something you need to learn?
Have you gone to your local college/university and asked them to add IBM i
to their curriculum?
Have you told IBM how you feel about their marketing?
Have you come up with any alternative marketing or PR programs to promote
IBM i - that don't need IBM to do something?
Have you been to the IBM Town Hall meeting and asked IBM something
important?
Have you submitted a requirement to the CAAC or CEAC?
Have you learned PHP and used the power of IBM i to deliver an application
that supports, extends and integrates your heritage i applications?

There are SO many things to DO, and so many people complaining because it is
not the way THEY want. I say they should shut up and DO something.

What effort have you made to start a group/site/event where we can "spend
our energy collaborating"? You say "let's talk", but that is all
we seem to
do. In what WAYS are you "encouraging growth of modern and open source

you planning
to DO? All you have done is say what you are NOT DOing, and what
you want to
TALK about.

That's the problem.

You know, I was was doing a little cleanup on my machines yesterday and ran
across something. The original code for RPGenerationX.com.

Are you ready.. <heart beat>.. break it down! lol! Where is 6 Pac these
days anyhow? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sean_Waltman

Maybe it's time to bring it back if the originators no longer have any
vested interested.

Nothing can compete with Davids offerings here on these lists. :) Most
have tried, and most have failed. Most want to create their own wheel, and
not use someone elses.

Well, that was my Friday post a day early I guess.
