Paul,

Many years ago (8 or 9) we used a company named Source Retrieval to
retrieve the missing source code for a critical program we had. They did
a very good job although it wasn't cheap. As I recall it was $600 to send
them the program object and supporting data get one program de-compiled.
They also offered volume discounts or you could purchase the software to
install on your own machine if you had a large number to de-compile.

I think I remember hearing something a few years ago about them either
going out of business or being acquired by someone else.

As I recall, they were located in the Cincinnati area.

Maybe this information will jog someone else's memory with an update on
their status.

Thank you,

With V6R1 just around the corner, and software vendors that have
disappeared
along with their source code, some companies must be facing the issue of
code that won't migrate.

There used to be a company that provided a de-compiler for RPG and CLP
programs. Has anybody used them? Are they still around?
