Actually, I am under the impression that using "Check Service Pack" on pre
V6R1 iSeries Access is starting to get discouraged, unless you:
- are a domain admin
- have disabled virus programs
I have a pmr open where someone else in systems has certain areas of
iSeries Access not work a tink because of this process. Now we're down to
removing of the current stuff and reinstalling (keeping in mind the two
caveats). I'm really not happy with this because of the update process.
IBM is now encouraging a 'push' strategy versus the above 'pull' strategy.
Apparently the domain admin pushes out all the upgrades versus something
that respects the caveats.
