It is possible to use some off-box storage that will look like native for ASPs. IBM has their StorageProven stuff - not cheap, as I recall, but works very well. Just like now even your load source does not have to exist physically on your i.

We are a single iSeries shop looking for ways to replicate or store some
SAVE files elsewhere since our core application vendor does not support
tape encryption. Is it feasible to set up a second ASP at a remote
location? - if so what hardware & software would be required? - how
about communication needs?

We are exploring sending the save file to a windows server then
replicating in along with our other SAN - but this appears to be a very
time consuming process.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
