I have a situation where we are given a tracking number from one of the larger shippers (Fedex, DHL, etc.) We don't know which one. Does anyone know of a way to identify which shipper it sent it based on just the number? We receive the tracking data from a scan of the barcode on a shipping document. In the case of Fedex, this number can be up to 32 characters long with the actual tracking number buried in the string somewhere. I need to be able to id the shipper, then based on what type of shipment it is (ground, overnight, etc.) pull out the actual tracking number.

Anyone have a routine that does this? I've done some searching on the Internet, most of what I've seen is other folks asking the same question without any answers.

Thanks,

Kelley
