Second that. Out of all his accomplishments in his career, Al was even
prouder of his kids. He and I talked frequently and compared "Dad notes".
The last time was just 4 weeks ago. I was dumbfounded when I returned home
last night and saw the emails. Thanks, Trevor, for the update.

My wife and I both lost a buddy the other night.

No man prouder of his children existed. And Al lived a varied and
interesting career. Recently, while, again, he was beaming about his
daughters accomplishments he mentioned her involvement with the space
program. I said it could only be better if she got to actually travel. He
then let it out that he was in the astronaut program. Like numerous
others, he didn't make it through the whole program. But what a swing at
bat, eh?
