I read the PMR. Wow! I commend your persistence. Keep at it. At this point I would have expected the question to be asked of IBM "Do you not, by this point, have the means to simply recreate the problem and investigate the failing scenario yourselves?" It seems maybe they are already aware they are there. I have added some comment to the internal discussion to imply that IMNSHO there is a defect. Basically...

Having met the rules established in the policy and the authority requirements to access the object, to have activated that retrieval, there should be *no* authority errors from that point forward. Restated: The retrieval should occur without any problem(s) due to authority, once retrieval is deemed appropriate according to the ability of the user to both access the object and to have met any policy rules.

P.S. The latest maintenance on v5r3 may have the same issue, so be prepared to either experience the same issue there, or to remove the PTF(s) for BRMS to get the expected functionality back.
