You wrote: "A Mode D IPL from the DVD drive works
perfectly, and i get dumped into
the LIC installer. However, that one complains that it can't
find a
disk valid for the load source..."
If that means the console display showed "Install Licensed
Internl Code" and you picked:
1. Install Licensed Internal Code
then got to the Install Licensed Internal Code (LIC) screen
that shows:
Disk selected to write the Licensed Internal Code to:
Serial Number Type Model I/O Bus Controller
Device
xx-xxxxxxx xxxx xxx x
x x
Select one of the following:
1. n/a
2. Install Licensed Internal Code and Initialize
system
3,4,5 n/a
Is this where you got to? Did you get an SRC on the HMC
for LPAR status?
