It's the Windows computer that you're connecting to (not the i5/OS /QNTC directory) that needs to grant the appropriate authority.

One solution that folks seem to use frequently is profile swapping... they'll create a user profile on the Windows box, and create an identical one on the System i. When they need to access the share, they'll use the profile swapping (profile handle or profile token) APIs to switch to that userid, do the file access, then switch back.

But if your job always runs under QTMHHTP1, then you might just add a user named QTMHHTP1 to the Windows machine (with the same password that he has on i5/OS) and give him access to the appropriate directories on the Windows machine...

Other possibilities (aside from the two above) include using smbclient from the Samba project (running under PASE), and setting up single-sign on... but these are probably overkill.
