There's no harm in keeping your existing UPS and feeding it from the protected circuit serving the entire room. In the event of failure of the main protected circuit, the 520 UPS will take over and provide for an orderly shutdown. I'm assuming that you have a signal cable attached from your UPS to the 520 and that you have configured what actions to take when a failure occurs.

Keep in mind that your 520 is useless without extending protection to the system console and to the routers and switches that allow users to access it.

We have a large UPS serving the entire computer room backed up with a diesel generator supplied by an underground fuel tank. We can run indefinitely on auxiliary power. The bulk of our users are at remote sites and would be unaware that a utility power failure had occurred.

BTW, it's a good idea to have your auxiliary I/O devices, i.e., tape and optical, and at least one printer on the protected circuit.
