I don't know about that Rebecca...

There are some pretty old guys on this list that wrote most
of the orignal code for the Social Security Administration,
using chisels and stone tablets writing in the ancient language
of Cobol.

How about an IBM 7080 and 1401 (the latter had no disk drives of course - just card or tape input). The 1401 probably had 64K or 32K of memory at most! You modified programs IN STORAGE to make them take different path, etc. There were NO consoles.
