Interesting announcement on the "X" server line. Maybe P will follow, then i and we can just re-label it all the "System L" (for Lenovo)

"IBM and Lenovo sign technology licensing agreement for x86 technology. (CC0801-022)
IBM announced that it has signed a licensing agreement with Lenovo for x86 technology....With this new agreement IBM will license Lenovo the rights to manufacture and sell one- and two-socket tower and rack servers under their Lenovo logo. By choosing IBM one- and two-way server technology, Lenovo is recognizing IBM's industry leading technology. The agreement does not apply to IBM BladeCenter, IBM System x Scalable Enterprise Server and IBM Systems Management Software offerings."

With more and more manufacturing heading to what used to be second tier manufacturers, I would guess it will be harder and harder to justify manufacturing P and i Systems in Rochester.

Is there a Lenovo System i in our future? Makes you wonder....
