I think you have to enclose the variable name in double quotes "user"

I have an RPGLE program that defines a field in the program called USER.
In a debug session, if I attempt to display the value of that field, I
get a syntax error.
I assume that this must be a reserved word in the debugger.
Is there any way I can see the value of this field?
