The problem with using "cute" stuff like MySpace is that corporations
often block it via WebSense and such rot. While I've never had to explain
to the boss why I've tried accessing a web site that was forbidden it
could happen.
I will say WebSense does a dandy job of blocking ads in embedded websites.
You know, like those ones that I reported to the list recently. I
suspect they have a service that when you access those sites that x number
of people saw your ad that was distributed through us so therefore it pays
to use advertise via us. WebSense probably blocks that service. I wonder
if they tell their advertisers "x number of people could no longer read
your ads because we tried to use this service and y percent of them lost
their jobs due to visiting unauthorized sites and therefore I wouldn't try
ever calling them and, whatever you do, don't accept a free drink from
them at COMMON without having someone else taste it first."
