Thanks Bruce, I'll take a look at that.

As it turns out, the customer traced to the problem to a program of their own that was opening files in the IFS and not closing them. Our code just happened to be unlucky enough to open the file that pushed things over the limit.

The Retrieve Referenced Objects (QP0LRRO) API might be of assistance to you. The API will return information on the integrated file system objects that are currently referenced by a specific job, along with the number of references to the object.
