Re: is there no IBM Technical Conf this year?

Actually I just hate cold weather. Love the "amenities" in Chicago, for example; hate the cold. Texarkana would work for me. Been to Fairbanks and Prudhoe Bay (New Year's Eve); nice places - once global warming kicks in. .-)

Typically the venue's other than COMMON or IBM tech conferences pick their location with amenities in mind. I suppose in an effort to get enrollment fees from those who want an all expense paid vacation and who may never attend the conference. Some of these are so far out that my boss simply calls them "compucruises" and quickly discards their flyers.
