I am letting this drop. Its no big deal. Gui, to me, means images. Text based means nothing but characters from the character set. Minuet used characters. Nothing but characters.

The only reason I even mentioned it in the first place is that in the green screen environment we have nice borders, pushbuttons, radio buttons, true scroll bars, check boxes, a good menu bar, and several other features that we flat-out refuse to use. Then we get pontifical and then we complain that we can't do what GUI does. Why would IBM do anything to extend our capabilities when we reject what they have already offered?

(For those doubting Thomases that have never used the scroll bar... please.. try it before you knock it, ok?)

Are you talking about a 256 char codepage? If so, I fail to see the
