I'm pretty sure that it would be a fallacious argument to compare a
modern business system to a life form that died out before the human
species existed on this planet.

I recently left a company who's leadership firmly believed that "the
small/medium world is now Windows."

Someday they will have to come to grips with the reality that even after
they spend the $1M plus that the iSeries replacement application will
cost they will still have to spend the cost of an 810 upgrade on a new
Intel box to house the Domino server that their iSeries runs in the
background. And lose the 100% uptime and D/R capabilities that come
standard with an i.

Meanwhile, competent Windows admins command similar salaries to iSeries
admins and are just as hard to find.

Mark V. --->We have survived quite well among the many.

So did the dinosaurs for a while, the days of the IBM midrange being a
GREAT machine for small/medium businesses who could thrive with a 1 or
2 man shop and a machine that jsut flat out ran forever are
gone...............

It's now the "big boys" using the LPAR's, managing server farms hosted
on the System i, etc. the small/medium world is now
Windows.................
