"not well tuned" hah! much more likely, the system is terribly underpowered
due to IBM mgmt's continued focus on short term profits over long term
success. At my current assignment I have spent literally months coding for
efficiency vs functionality on a 1200 CPW i520. IBM wants 6 figures to
activate the 2nd core and undo the actions of the system governor.
Mgmt prefers to wait for next years announcements. Me, I make money writing
twice the number of lines of code necessary for the job. i5/OS takes the hit
as the users see it as an outdated system which cant cut it in the world of
rapid application development.
