Yep, that's what I have it set to. But, I'm finding that Tripp Lite's power
manangement software is not the greatest.

It runs the script sometimes, but not other times. I was on support for 90
minutes testing and I couldn't get anything to work. So I hang up, reboot,
try it just executing notepad and it works. Then I change it to run my FTP
script, doesn't run at all.

Does your messaging let you wait for a period before sending a message to
the system? If you can allow 30 seconds or so after the power failure,
you won't shut down on the minor power outages.

There were a lot of running jobs. I can tell you 5250 was not working,
and
FTP was still running... HTTP was shut down as well.

What is still running on the system? If your logon is the only job, and
you did not specify a time limit on the controlled powerdown, the system
will wait forever. Check all the running jobs and see if what is active
still.

Maybe I asked the wrong question, then. :) But let me answer your
questions.

1. I don't.. just got it. I've played with *IMMED and it was pretty
fast.
That was just playing.
2. For *CNTRLD which I just tested, it's been over 10 minutes. But I
only issued the PWRDWNSYS command, nothing else.
3. I'd say Im lucky to get 10-15 minutes out of my UPS. I don't want
to test it. :)

Should I be doing more than a PWRDWNSYS when shutting it down? Maybe
something that would make *CTRLD go a little faster? It's a new 515
that I'm using, BTW n V5R4.
