Chuck,
When I said at least two, that was because when you move a record
from one Relative Record to another, you will have a delete of the current
record and then a put (write) of the record into the new location. That is
two. What would happen if you were also journaling access paths of the
logical files that were over that physical file. Would there not be another
update to the for the LF, therefore the statement at least 2.

Is that a fair statement?

reorg?

Although the online reorganize can effect a large amount of update
activity, the RGZPFM KEYFILE(*RPLDLTRCD) would normally be used for SQL
TABLE. The following file with five of ten rows deleted [DENT=Deleted
Entry indicator, where 1=Deleted and 0=Active], would have effectively,
only the following four journaled entries for a *RPLDLTRCD request; i.e.
not 'at least two for every' row, but 'at *most* two for every' row:

_Before_ _After_ /* 6 to 10 eligible for truncate */

DENT RRN DTA | DENT RRN DTA
0 01 B | 0 01 B
1 02 | 0 02 X
1 03 | 0 03 A
0 04 J | 0 04 J
0 05 Z | 0 05 Z
1 06 | 1 06
1 07 | 1 07
0 08 A | 1 08
0 09 X | 1 09
1 10 | 1 10

_Journaled updates; Row: Delete & Insert_

T-OP RRN DTA
R D 09 X
R I 02 X
R D 08 A
R I 03 A
