Generally speaking, how much of a pain is it to get an Existing or
Modified green screen program "sized" to fit efficiently on mobile
handheld devices/scanners?

Or, is it better to redo from scratch and use the Browser functionality?

Actually, Don, this is one of the things that PSC/400 does extremely well.
By converting your 5250 screens to JSP, PSC/400 will immediately get you
into the browser, which is far more universally supported than 5250 for hand
held devices. Typically, just removing blank spaces and using a nice font
will reduce a standard hand-held application to where it fits just fine in a
standard QVGA (quarter VGA, or 320x200) hand-held.

But even if you have too many fields to comfortably fit in the display, then
you still have lots of options. If some fields aren't needed for the
hand-held application, you can condition the fields and they won't show up
in the browser. Otherwise, you can clone the program and break the green
screen into two or more panels. You can do that all in green screen, make
sure it works, and then convert it to a browser-based application with a
single command.
