1. Have you run the RTVDSKINF (rtv disk info) command yet, then PRTDSKINF (print disk info)?
It is a great way to see what's using up your system.
Don't run during prime time. RTVDSKINF can take long time, depending on size of system. Easily 1/2 hour (submitted) on a small system.
I run weekly on job schedule at 4am Saturday. It builds the files used by PRTDSKINF, which can select in size order all the objects over a certain size -
Print Disk Information (PRTDSKINF)
Type of report . . . . . . . . . > *OBJ *LIB, *
ASP device . . . . . . . . . . . *SYSBAS Name, *
Objects . . . . . . . . . . . . > *ALL Name, g
Object types . . . . . . . . . . *ALL *ALL, *
Smallest size . . . . . . . . . > 50000 Size in
Sort by . . . . . . . . . . . . *SIZE *SIZE,

This is quick since rtvdskinf already built the database.
The first few pages are a summary of the system.
Spending a lot of time on many small items eats up a lot of time when
often a few big items can give you a better return.

2. Is your system running the QCLEANUP (started by the QSTRUP job at ipl.
You can GO CLEANUP may need qsecofr to see opt 1?)
1. Change cleanup options
2. Start cleanup at scheduled time
3. Start cleanup immediately
4. End cleanup

would not clean too severely, but if turned off, you could have lots of system logs on disk.

Subject: S36/S38 Libraries

The V5R1 system with space issues has the # libraries, QSSP, QS36F,
QSYS38, etc. plus the migration library QMGU.

Can I look at objects' last used date in these libraries to confirm that
S36/S38 is not being used?

Is there any way QWIN16 would still be used?

It looks like QDOC could use some clean up too.

Every little bit helps.

Thank you,
Bonnie Lokenvitz
